The eighth track, "The Kid Frankie" samples Loose Ends' " Hangin' on a String", in which Khalifa had previously stated that the song was inspired by the character named Frankie from the film The Business (2005), who listens to Loose Ends, while traveling around Spain and other countries. The subject matter mainly consisted of partying, pretty women, sex, and marijuana. The mixtape's cover artwork was an homage to David Ruffin's album Gentleman Ruffin (1980). In an interview with MTV's Mixtape Daily, Wiz Khalifa stated that Kush and Orange Juice would be the title for this release, because "it's perfect for wake-and-bake".
